Privacy policy
The short version: DRUM VR does not ask who you are and has no ads. Google Analytics only gets to use cookies if you accept.
This policy explains what happens to information when you use DrumVR.com and the DRUM VR web app (the “Service”). Please read it with our Terms of Use and our Cookies and storage page.
What we collect from you
We do not ask you for personal information. There are no accounts, sign-ups, forms, comments, or uploads.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to understand how many people visit and how the app is used, so we can improve it. We do not use it for advertising.
- What it records: the pages you view, your approximate location (country and region), your device, browser, and operating system, how you arrived at the site, and a few app events: whether your browser supports VR, and when a VR session starts and ends and how long it lasted.
- What it does not record: your name, your email address, your VR motion or controller input, or your kit settings and layouts.
- Cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies on your device only if you accept analytics. They are listed on the Cookies and storage page.
- Before you choose: the Google tag is told not to use cookies or storage. Your browser still contacts Google’s servers to load the tag, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as with any resource loaded from another company, and Analytics may receive limited signals that do not use cookies. Google says Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
- Your choice: you can accept or decline in the banner, and change your mind any time with Cookie settings in the footer or on the Cookies and storage page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as declining analytics unless you turn it on.
To learn how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can also install Google’s browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on any site.
Your VR motion and input data
To let you play, DRUM VR reads the position of your headset and controllers and your button presses in your browser, in real time. This data is used on your device to run the game. It is not sent to us or to Google, not stored, and not shared. DRUM VR does not use your camera or microphone.
What stays on your device
DRUM VR saves your settings, kit layouts, saved presets, and their names in your browser’s local storage so it can remember your setup next time. This is not a cookie. If you record a session, DRUM VR also keeps that recording on your device: the timing of your hits and a copy of the sound DRUM VR played while you recorded. It does not use your microphone and cannot record other apps. Recordings are not sent to us or to Google. You can download or delete them at DrumVR.com/recordings. It never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. You can turn saving off or delete the data any time on the Cookies and storage page, or by clearing your browser data.
Advertising
There are no ads on the Service. The Google tag is set to deny advertising storage and advertising personalization, and we do not share data for advertising.
Hosting and server logs
DrumVR.com is delivered through Netlify. Like most hosting providers, Netlify may process standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This happens to deliver and secure the site. We do not use it to identify you. Netlify’s handling of this data is described in its privacy policy.
Who handles data
We do not sell personal information. Google handles analytics data on our behalf, and Netlify handles hosting data, each under its own terms. We do not share your information with anyone else.
Legal bases for visitors in Europe and the UK
We use analytics only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time as described above. We process hosting logs because we have a legitimate interest in delivering and securing the site.
Children
DRUM VR is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Please follow your headset maker’s age requirements, and a parent or guardian should supervise younger players.
Your choices and rights
You decide whether analytics runs and whether your setup is saved: use Cookie settings in the footer and the controls on the Cookies and storage page. We do not collect personal information ourselves, so there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete beyond what you can already manage on your device.
Where data is processed
Google and Netlify may process data in data centers in different countries, including the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the Service handles information, we will update this page and its date first.
